How long and how many times a week is a typical session?

Clients often wonder about the counseling, such as how long and how frequently sessions typically last. It is common for sessions to be 50 to 60 minutes long, with most clients seen once or twice a week in the beginning. As time goes on and the client progresses, they may require less frequent sessions. The number of sessions will depend on the client's current needs and goals for the counseling process.

How long will I be in counseling?

The length of time a client is in counseling varies depending on the nature of the problem and the goals of the counseling.

For some individuals, a particular problem can be resolved within a shorter counseling course, while for others, counseling is an ongoing learning process that may require longer treatment.

What if I want couples counseling, but my partner won't come?
