Internship learning Objective
1. Description of internship duties and responsibilities
· Maintains confidentiality of records relating to client's treatment.
· Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports.
· Collect information about clients through interviews, observation, and tests.
· Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge.
· Assess staff productivity utilizing organizational or industry standards.
· Participates in crisis intervention activities as necessary
2. Learning objectives for the internship:
· Effectively evaluate and treat clients
· Establish and maintain the confidence and cooperation of clients and co-workers
· Communicate effectively orally and in writing
· Maintain self-awareness and assertiveness
· Establish a non-threatening treatment environment
· Develop and use community resources.
· Participate in a multi-agency children's system of care program in a variety of professional mental health/substance diagnostic, counseling, treatment, and community outreach services to clients; working with the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse, Juvenile Services, and the education system; working with licensed clinicians specializing in evidence-based practices; working with families, children, adolescents, and parents.
· Under general supervision, assists, conducts, and participates in therapy as a program team member and has treatment responsibilities for selected cases.
